Return to San Marco through the Mercerie, vital link between Rialto and San Marco and the main street for city shopping.
After some recreation, you will visit one of the most majestic cathedrals in the world! On this tour, accompanied by a guide prepared according to the Curia of Venice, enjoy a complete visit of this masterpiece of Byzantine art, the only one of its kind in Italy, you will have the pleasure of savoring splendid gold mosaics and marble inlays of the floors, seated comfortably while our guide will show you the biblical scenes represented, the history and the particularities of this ancient basilica. See the Pala d'oro, an exquisite example of Byzantine art with its thousands of gems and precious stones.At the end of your activity you will have the opportunity to take the free optional tour the Demonstration of the glass craftsman by visiting a glass factory very close to St. Mark's Square (20 minute tour). Follow the instructions our staff will provide you locally.

Meeting point: Piazza San Marco - Torre dell'Orologio near the exchange office (the white building with the blue clock face). Our assistant will be waiting for you with the “TOUR” sign. DO NOT go to the Campanile. (See map and directions below)

Availability and operation: April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. The tour does not operate on April 25 - August 15 - November 1 - December 8 and 25 - January 1 - 6 and during unplanned religious celebrations.
Departure and meeting point: Monday to Saturday at 9:00 am. Please be at the meeting point 15 minutes before departure.
Inclusion: shared guided tour on foot by a qualified and expert guide - "Skip the line" guided tour of the Basilica and the Pala D'Oro - Audio receiving devices are included in case of groups of more than 10 people - Glass craftsman at work nearby to Piazza San Marco. - 1 hour inside the Basilica -
Duration: 2.5 hours (20 minutes more for the glass craftsman at work in St. Mark's Square). Ends at 13:00.

Cancellation: reservations can be canceled without charge up to 24 hours before the service. Tours does not operate in case of exceptional high tide or in case of unplanned religious functions (in these cases it can be postponed to the next day otherwise it will be refunded).

Unfortunately, this tour is not fully accessible for wheelchair users or people with walking disabilities.
There is an interval of 1 hour between the walking tour and the tour of the Basilica.
The tour does not operate in case of exceptional high tide or in case of particular religious functions (in these cases it can be postponed to the next day otherwise it will be refunded).
On some days of high turnout or for reasons of force majeure (for example high tide or safety problems) the waiting times to access the Balisica di San Marco may be longer than expected: in this case, please get in line and to respect the instructions provided by the guide.
